a couple of weeks ago, it started jumping and acting like it was out of gas. I put a fuel filter on it and it ran okay for a few days. Then it started jumping again and acting like it was out of gas. Now it won't start. I can hear the pump humming when I try to start it. But could it still be the fuel pump. It has spark.

Your saying you can hear the pump run with the engine cranking? My hearing is no good, I can't do that. Can you check fuel pressure? Some of the national brand autostores will loan out tools, if you don't have a fuel pressure gage. You may have to put up a deposit, but you get the money back when you return the tool.

If you have the csfi fuel system, there are bulletins about the fuel poppets getting clogged, I wouldn't think they would all go haywire at the same time? Have you tried spraying carb cleaner or something in the intake, to see if the engine will try to start? There could be a safety issue using any flammable spray, that is your responsibility.

The theft lite isn't flashing when you turn on the key?
