Well, I was driving down the highway about 55 or 60 MPH and I started to get over to take the exit ramp, when I accelerated it acted like I wasn't even pushing the gas petal and a few clouds of white smoke poured from my tail pipe and it immediatley made a strage sound. I pulled over, got it towed home and parked it. I haven't driven it since but I don't know what's wrong with it.. Someone told me it was a head gasket and it wasn't too complicated to fix if you know what your doing. It didn't overheat so what could it be?

sounds to me like a bad headgasket, when they go they just go, right out of the blue.

to verify this perform a cylinder compression test,

it isnt a complicated job if you know what your doing.
