2001 Blazer takes 2-3 second to start

Never any fuel system work besides new fuel filter a few years ago. The following problem started a few weeks ago. My Blazer used to start as soon as the key was turned, now if it sits for any length of time it cranks for 2-3 seconds before starting. I doesn't smoke at all either way. If I turn the key to on and let the fuel pump run until it sounds like it stops, about 3 seconds, then crank, it starts instantly. Any ideas before I start troubleshooting? Thanks.

Does it run rough when it starts? Could be a weak fuel pump or the pump bleeding down pressure. If it runs rough it could be a blown fuel pressure regulator in the intake plenum

It runs perfect all the time. Gas mileage is the same as it always has been. The pre-described problem is the only thing wrong with it. Thanks for replying.

Have the pump checked with a manual gauge, could be bleeding down causing excessive cranking
