After removing my radiator, I refered to the removal
of parts in my manual. However, it tells all except for
the fan assembly removal. I was told to hold the bolt
and turn the asmb. The opposite to rotation. This
doesn't work as the fan spins freely in either direction. It appears to pull straight out. Am I right?

Remove the fan assembly attaching nuts, then remove the fan assembly from the engine.

Some vehicles use a spacer between the fan and the water pump pulley. If used, be sure to retain the spacer for installation.

If necessary, the clutch may be removed from the fan by removing the attaching nuts or bolts (as applicable).
