Hi,i have just rebuilt a chevy blazer 4.3 v6 engine, due to blown head gasket.Everything has been put back as it was.Problem is the engine fires up and then dies,i have put a little gas into the throttle body and it runs 6 or 7 seconds and then dies.Fuel pressure is good, spark to each plug is good.I have timed it as the book says, rotor pointing to the number 6 stamped on the inside of the distributor body and number one cylinder at tdc.,ie both valves cllosed on number one cylinder, all electrical connections are good.I dont have a computer. What could be the problem please?

Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn key to run?

What's pulsing the fuel injectors if its a TBI system- Recheck the fuel pressure and comeback with the readings

fuel is being delivered-hook up a fuel pressure gauge and give me the fuel pressure readings.

You sure the rotor is suppose to be pointing to no.6 or to no.1 @ TDC

Thanks for your reply, its not the number 6 plug wire, its a number on the lip of the distributor.Anyway thanks for all your replies but i have solved the problem. It was the key fob,if the battery gets low it wont start the car.You have to press unlock lock it again and then start the car.It now runs like a dream.Im from England by the way!
Thanks again,regards Tom.
