When you turn the ignition on you get dash lights & you can hear the fuel pump kick in & it will start. Lately you turn the ignition on you get NO dash lights & hear no fuel pump & it will not start ! I noticed that when you turn the key back towards the acc. The radio & temp. Gage over head works, it also works when turned foward to the on position. I have tried to hit the steering wheel to see if there was a short or something in the steering wheel colum. HELP PLEASE ! No Battery Problem, It turns over great, just will not run if dash lights don't light up when you turn key on!

Welcome, make sure the battery has a full charge and the connections are good. Next, I'd have to check feed to and from the ignition switch.

It sounds like a dead spot in the ignition switch. Had a corsica done the same thing.

FYI: Don't beat on a steering wheel / pad. This can cause an accidental deployment of air bag.

A common problem for Chevy Blazer is failing contacts in the ignition switch. If the fuel pump fails to energize at all times. Check the fuel pump circuit. (Fuse, ignition sw, relay, wiring, pump connector / terminals, and pump.)
