Brakes problem
1997 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Automatic 15000 miles

my car is making a humming sound that seems to be coming from underneath on the drivers side. I have no tension in my brake pedal. Im having to hold it to the floor to get the vehicle to stop and when I do that my brake light pops on until I push the pedal slightly. Im not sure if that could be a caliper or master cylinder. I need help

What is the level of the brake fluid? Is it the RED brake warning light or the orange anti lock brake warning light?

I am having the same problem with my 1997 Chevy Blazer. The brake fluid is fine, and the light that comes on is the RED parking brake light.

I have a '97 Blazer and in January I had the same problem. Took it to a mechanic and he said the brake lines were rusted through giving it no pressure. This could be your problem.
