When I let off the gas at a stop sign my oil pressure gage goes to zero when I accelerate it goes back up same around turns. My oil level is acceptable what could this be?

I would remove the oil sending unit, attach a test gauge, and check the pressure. If its 10 psi at idle, and 40- 60psi at 2000rpm all is well, if not, oil pump or engine wear is the reason. You can try a heavier oil as a temporary solution. If the pressure test is normal, replace the sending unit.

What do you mean by acceptable? It is either full or it needs oil. If you are a qt or more low then fill it and see what happens.

If all is good with oil level and it has been change on recommended schedule then it could be either the Oil Pressure Switch or the Oil Pump.

Switch is cheaper and easier to change.
