The vehicle started having starting problems and eventually it just didn't start. Now it won't start unless starter fluid is sprayed in the throttle. Which leads me to believe there is something wrong with the fuel system. Recently replaced battery, plugs, cap, rotor, pvc, and fuel filter November 2008. Also, cleaned the MAF sensor that was giving me a check engine light. Check engine light also gave me a evaporative emission system purge/vent solenoid circuit condition. I don't know if these could be related. What could it be?

have the fuel pressure checked when it doesnt start. you may have a bad pump. your pressure should be around 60-65 psi

Thanks for the help. Found 2 vacuum hoses that were cracked and falling apart upon contact. 1 was hiding between the battery and coolant reservoir and the other was dangling by the Cruise control module. The fuel pump pressure was at 53psi. The recommended was 55- 61 psi for my car. Do you think its probably going to go bad?

where did you get the specs for the fuel pressure. was there specs for fuel volume? I would just replace the complete fuel pump instead of rebuilding it

I got the specs from the haynes manual. Ended up replacing fuel pump and fuel filter. The fuel filter was placed on backwards last time it was changed. Could that have been the problem? Well the car is working fine now. Thanks for the help.
