My Blazer had a leak from the speed sensor. I bought a new one. When I installed & go reverse & foward start to making a noise. I pull it back & I do not see anything else inside there. The old one has a silver grease, but I do not see no difference from the new one. Please, help me to solve this issue.

Thanks

Thanks. I figure out, is a magnetic speed sensor. I changed the O Ring to the old one & works perfect. Thank you. The Fuccillo Chevrolet service technician asked me for 78.98 to do that. I only spend $35.00 in the VSS.

Hello -

When you put the old one back in do you have the same problem?

Is it seated properly?

I would jack the rear end up, put it in gear and slowly turn the drive shaft with your hand on the VSS and see if you can feel if something is hitting it?

I don't see any TSBs on this problem.

Are you sure the part looks exactly the same?

Hello -

Sorry so long to get back with you..... Having some computer problems - major ones, so please bear with me as I limp along here. Also your post somehow got lost in the system.

Okay, I don't' believe there is a gear on it..... The one I looked at doesn't. Some do but on this one no. But, you should have a part on the side, a spline looking that something would fit into and should be lined up.

Remove the old and new, drive it forward and in reverse and see if you hear the noise. If not you are not installing it correctly and the splines are not lining up.
