A new battery was installed 07/2010. On 09/2010 my battery check light came on.The mechanic said that my alternator was defective and needed a new one.(alt.is only a few yrs old). When the mech disconnected the battery cables,he called me over and showed me the snow white corroded terminals and said this is why the alt. went bad.(terminals located on side of battery). Can corroded terminals reduce the life of an alternator????
