Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer 4.3 vortec engine.
First, I replaced the spark plugs and wires.

Second, I replaced intake motor.

Third, I replaced the distributor cap and wires. The cap is the finger type not the round.

After that it started and seemed better, however the distributor cap was really loose. The hole was stripped. I was able to get that tighten and now it will not start.

It will turn over but not start. I checked the plugs again and they have fuel and black on them.

Hello, with the engine cranking, is there spark at the plugs? If not, take the coil wire loose from the cap, hold close to engine ground, have helper crank engine, does a spark jump? If so and no spark at plugs, I suspect the cap or rotor. If no spark, possibilities, coil wire--coil. I wouldn't replace anything without testing the coil primary terminals. Probably a two wire connector, pink wire goes hot when you turn on the key, white wire is a pulsing ground, engine cranking. No ground we''ll have to backtrack further.

I had this problem once with my 96 Blazer. If you have not got it to start, there are other things to check. There is a fuse for your fuel pump, and ignition. Also if you checked for spark and there is none along with no fuel, there is a relay in the glove compartment, if you have a meter you can check for continuity, if there is, then usually those are good. The last thing I checked was the wiring to the gas tank, and it was broke so I fixed that too. Mine started after that, but without any one of those, the relays do not seem to want to allow the engine to run. Heck I even poored gas down the plentum.
