Hi, my 1993 Full-size Blazer will not stay running. We have replaced the fuel pump, the fuel relay switch, the fuel filter, and cleaned the connections. It only starts when we pour gas in the carb and it stalls only seconds later. Please help! We need our truck!

Hi:
Is the pump running? Also, is it getting power?

No, the pump is not running. We replaced it last night. We don't know how to check if there is power running to it, but my guess is that it's not. My dad said something about checking the fuel pressure regulator, but I cannot find it for the life of me. Is it possible it doesn't have one? Thanks!

Hi:
Yes you have a fuel pressure regulator, but if the pump isn't running, it has nothing to do with it. To check for power at the fuel pump, unplug the wiring. Use a test light to see if power is getting to the plug. If it is, make sure the plug is in good condition, clean. If there is no power, check the fuel pump relay. It's located under the hood in a power distribution box. If you check the other relays, most likely you will find an exact match to the pump relay. Switch them to see if you're getting power and if the pump will run.

Let me know what you find.
