1991 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 91 s10 blazer that i just rebuilt the engine in and it is not running right. It starts and idles fine but when there is any kind of load put on the motor it sputters then dies. Any help would be great.

Hi:
Double chcek for any vacuum leaks, check fuel pump pressure / volume, and is the check engine light coming on?

There are a few vacuum lines that i was not sure where they when. I tried to chase them down with a vacuum diagram and had no luck. And the check engine light will come on seconds before it dies. Could bad fuel be the problem, it has sat for about 3 years?

If the gas in the tank is three years old, that is the problem. In fact, I'm surprised it's running at all. You will need to drain the fuel from the tank, blow out the fuel lines and filter, and I feel your problem will go away.

Let me know what happens.

I dropped the tank and replaced the filter today. It is running like a champ now. I know that I should have done that before I fired it up for the first time but thought I could get around it by just putting in some fuel additive. Thanks for the help!
