I need help with my S-10 Blazer. It was sputtering and I changed the plug wires and accidently replaced them wrong. On the cylinder I had 4 on 6 and 6 on 4. It cranked and ran but was loud. When I tried driving it not knowing I had done it wrong.I smelled something burning and pulled over, cutting off the engine, to check it. Then I went to crank it back up and it the engine turned over but I heard a "Puff' (Air releasing sound) and decided not to crank it again.

After I got it home and was checking it I discovered the wires and corrected them. Then I tried cranking it and still nothing and it made the "Puff" (Air releasing sound again).
I took off the air cleaner hosing and looked down into the throttle body and saw there was smoke or gas fumes. So I tried cranking it again and as I watched the throttle body I saw what appeared to be fuel from the injectors and when it made the "Puff" sound it puffed out of the top of the throttle body.
What could be wrong?
It still won't start. It turns over but won't start. PLEASE someone help me!
Thank you!

Sound like you have the wires crossed some where. Are you sure you have them on the correct way?

We double checked it using the manual and we have the wires correct now but it goes "Poof" out of the throttle body when you attempt to start the engine.
I don't know what it could be. We just replaced the Rotor button and Distributor cap. No change.
I am unsure what to do now. Anybody got a clue what could be wrong?

I know you said you went by the manual, but did you check the position if the rotor when you have it at top dead center. You may have the wires right, but the position of the distrubitor may be off. Let me know and I can help explain it to you maybe over the phone
