Engine Mechanical problem
1986 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

We put a new crate motor in this vehicle 4 years ago and until recently it was running fine. Now it pops back through the throttle body and is skipping real bad. It was blowing oil out but my husband (a mechanic) adjusted the valves and that stopped but not the popping back and skipping. We have done a complete tune up plugs, wires, distributor and all but that didn't help we are lost with this. Any help would be appreciated as this is the vehicle left to us when my dad passed.

You said Distributor, did u replace all of it or just Distributor cap ?
I've seen the Rotor Button short out and cause trouble.

Is the popping sound like a miss fire back fireing or like something hitting on something. It could be a push rod makeing the sound.

To see if the nose is from the motor, and if it is from a push rod it would be one close to the throttle body . Get a big screw driver, with the motor running place the screw driver where u think the sound my be comeing from and put your ear to the screw driver
Or use anything that will let you hear the sound.
Hope this helps
