My car has been good for sometime, BUT the last week, more recently yesterday, it has a weird noise like a humming or so that seems to be getting louder. But then it seems to generate to a more significant noise then, back to humming BUT LOUD! I'm not sure where to start to look for the noise or what. The car is running fine & I'm hoping this doesn't cause it to break down or something.
I don't have a lot of car knowledge or money. So I don't want to take it to the shop knowing they'll charge an arm & leg for something else or nothing at all.

What should I be looking at or for and where should I start.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi sharon,
the way you are describing this noise, it sounds like you may have a bad wheel bearing or wheel hub(front)

Thank you for the quick reply. Is this problem - the bearing- easy to fix? Do I have to take it to the shop?

Yeah, I think so, just have a rubber mallet handy, because even after you get the screws out it will still be kinda stuck, and you just tap it undone. Good luck
