Engine Performance problem
1991 Chevy Beretta 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Ok I have a 91 chevy beretta. Ok it hasnt wanted to start in awhile. But today it started fine. But then it started missing out real bad and when I put it in nutrual or push the clutch in the rpms drop to about 500 and dies. I've changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, cleaned the post on the battery, changed the crank sensor, its getting spark, and the fuel pressure is right where it should be, and the injectors are working, and changed the ECU. So I have no idea what could be wrong. What could be wrong? Please if anyone can help me please I need all the help I can get. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi:
Is the check engine light on? If so, have the computer scanned at one of the nationally recognized parts stores. Usually they will do it for free.

To me, it sounds like a map sensor, but I don't want you to spend money unless we are sure.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
PS: Was the ECU new?

No the check engine light is not on. The computer is new. But I had my friends dad work on it and he said it was fixed and it had the right amount of fuel pressure. But when I was heading home it messed up again. We got it back to him and he checked the fuel pressure and it didnt have any pressure at all.

Hi Again:

Now we need to determine if it's the pump or fuel pump relay. Have him check for power to the fuel pump. If there isn't power, check the relay.

Let me know what happens.

Hi:
Even though the pump may be running, have them check it for volume and pressure.
