1990 Chevy Beretta 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual n/a miles

i have a 1990 bretta GT 5speed. I've replaced the battery twice and have replaced the alternator twice. The battery still keeps dying and I have to keep replacing it. The car will start and run for 5 secs then die. I've checked the fuel filter and the fuel pump, and those are both fine. Any suggestions?

Battery keeps dying: Did you have the battery checked at an auto parts store using its battery tester? And the tester pointed that the battery was in fact bad, and needed be replaced? Or did you just replace the battery and alternator as the car would only run for a few seconds?

Fuel filter and pump, both fine: How did you check these parts to conclude that they are in fact working properly?
