My 2007 Aveo seems to need the coolant topped off fairly often. (2-3 Times month). We cannot find any leaks anywhere. Is this normal for this model or is something that needs checked?

Have the system pressure tested this will quickly identify the leak.
If none is found it may be internal, pull the oil filler cap off does it look like a melted Mars bar? If so maybe a head gasket, leave system pressurized pull the plugs wait a few hours observe gauge to see if it drops off, indicating a leak. If so crank engine if coolant comes ouy a spark plug hole there is your leak.
Good luck

Dont panic thats what warranties are for I work at a chevy dealer and it is common for a leak to form around the two coolant passage plugs under the valve cover to make sure the cooling system will have to be pressure tested the repair is simple so if you are out of warranty the repair should not be that costly

I had the same problem. Mine is a 2008 aveo. And we noticed that I had no coolant in my car. We found that strange since I only had 18000 km on it. Took it into the dealership. And they found out it has something to do with the casting plugs, and it was leaking coolant into the engine. But the warranty will cover it.
