2006 Chevy Aveo 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles
I bought a new shifter assembly for my Aveo, but I cannot figure out how to install it. I've been looking online for some sort of diagram with no luck. Could somebody give me step by step instructions on how to take out the old shifter and install the new one?

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the floor console.
Remove the shift select lever knob.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the shift select cover from the shift select housing.
Installation Procedure
Connect the connectors to the shift select cover.
Install the shift select cover to the hole.
Install the shift select lever knob.
Install the floor console.
Connect the negative battery cable.

Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the shift control lever.
Loosen the control cable adjusting nut.
Disconnect the control cable from the shift control lever assembly.
Remove the shift control lever assembly mounting bolts.
Remove the shift control lever assembly.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the shift control lever assembly and mounting bolts.
Tighten the shift control lever assembly mounting bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) .
Connect the control cable to the shift control lever assembly.
Tighten the control cable adjusting nut.
Tighten the control cable adjusting nut to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) .
Connect the harness connector.
Adjust the control cable. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Adjustment.
Install the floor console.
Connect the negative battery cable.
