2002 Chevy Avalanche Green plastic piece, switches blinker
Steering problem
2002 Chevy Avalanche V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 188XXX miles
Ok, so i have replaced my entire ignition assembly attempting to fix my problem. In order to get to the ignition screws i had to remove the circular green piece that trips the blinker off after a turn.. This piece has a very tough spring behind it and a *snap ring* to hold it in place. Is there an easy way to compress that spring to get that snap ring to pop in its proper place? i cant seem to get it past the first groove. thanks

i think you are talking about the spring that holds the lock in place. there is a tool that screws on the end of the steering shaft and will push the spring down. should have been used forremoval too....... an auto parts store may rent that tool.
