Took my van in to have the fuel pump replaced. Now the signals do not work, the hazards only work when the car is turned on but not when started. Dashboard lights work but can't read mileage or PRND etc. Fuel pressure guage, gas guage and battery guage do not work either, but temperature guage does. Drove it yesterday and everything came on including the seat belt chime for two seconds then back off. Brake lights work though. Any ideas?

Hi:
Try disconnecting the battery for 5+ minutes. See if that helps. If not, have the body control module (BCM) checked. It sounds like there could be a bad module or a ground problem. If the problem only started after the fuel pump repair, take the car back and have them check for grounds they may have disturbed.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

I took the van back in and the guy removed the doghouse and checked the wires there and then hoisted it up and checked the connector to the new fuel pump. Nothing. Weird thing is though that yesterday it just started to work again. And it has continued to ever since. It has to be a ground or broken wire but it is hard to figure out where it would be.

I have seen the connector for the actual instrument panel intermittently lose contact. You could pull the panel out and clean the contacts of the connector.
