Welcome to the forum, I'd have to use a gage and check fuel pressure, when it refuses to start. If you think the fuel pump isn't running, check voltage and ground at the pump connector? My info shows an oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit, once you crank it enough to bring up oil pressure, and that switch/circuit is functional, your pump will get voltage, even without the relay. You have to do the testing when the problem is ongoing.

Hi, without checking fuel pressure or voltage at the fuel pump connector, I don't know what else to tell you? Have a good day.
