There is not enough room to get a hand in between the front frame cross member and engine area where oil filter is located (sensor is located above oil filter on engine block) in order to change the sensor. If you remove the front lower shroud assembly can you gain access by reaching over the front cross member or do you have to remove engine mounts and lift engine?

Try taking the oil filter off to get to sensor you may have to remove a shield near there. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

It will screw out, but as the switch is fairly deep you need a deep series socket to reach over the plastic plug, if the parts store selling the switch has tools, you may be able to purchase a socket to suite or get a wrench on it.
