Changed alternator now will not start

It powers up when you turn key on but will not do anything and the dash lights stay on when you turn the key off.

When you replaced the alternator did you disconnect the battery? If not was there any sparking from the main power wire? Because it sounds like the fusible link is blown. Here is a diagram and guide to help us get started. Check for power at the alternator which will tell us whats going on. With the key on you should have power at the red wires.

I found the problem. I left the ground wire off one of the alternator bolts.
