Chain noise

I keep getting a chain sounding noise from the front end and rear end. I think it is coming from the front end and I am hearing it from the rear end. When I hit a bump it sounds like a chain is just swaying like how you put them on a trailer. I know the shocks are bad all the way around, but I do not know if that is the cause of the noise. Any suggestions. Thanks.
