Same issue as other quetion on a 1999 VW Jetta. I took out inginition swithc but not sure if bad. The battery is good. I did not try to jump the starter but I have no cranking, no ppwer windows or door locks, no interior lights. Just glove box light, radio, and head/tail lights. Car not under water but I had felt wetness on passenger side floor in past which is where the CCM is I believe ( car has sunroof which also does not work now ). Fuses look good. I checked the plug that goes to the starter to see if has power when the key is turned and there is not any power there. What could this be? I have no idea if swicth is bad, but I doubt starter is the issue because there is no power getting to the starter. What should I do? I need to fix this car.

Don't start any new topics about the same problem. It will only make things more confusing.

Using a test light and wiring diagram, you can check for power at the ignition switch (big red wire) and then follow the power out if the switch (red/blk wire when cranking).

If you have power coming out of the switch, then the switch is good. Continue following the wire to the fuse box and then to the starter.

Yes the CCM may play a role in the no-crank. Check all the fuses first. They look good, what does that mean? Did you check them with a test light?
