I have a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham 231 V6 3.8L engine. I just replaced the exhaust manifolds gasket and now my carburetor is puffing out gas from on top of the carb through the throat. It started right up with no problem before replacing the exhaust manifold gasket. I checked for spark which is good. The distributor, spark plugs, and wires are good, what can it be?

This means the float inside the carburetor is no good or the needle and seat need to be replaced or cleaned out. I would try to remove the top and see if the float had sunk and then get a new one.
