I have a question for you first went to start out by saying the car will not crank over and when you turn the key light that shows up on the dash and stays on the dash is battery light. I have already taken off the alternator, starter and battery and had all three tests and they passed. I cleaned up all of the terminals of any corrosion and wiring, also checked all the wiring and fuses they are all good. The car listed above is a sedan SE model. Also I ran my OBD tester and no codes came up. What could be the problem?

Hello my name is Dave.

The battery light staying on when the engine isn't running is normal, we need to look at other possibilities.

When you try to start it do you hear any noises like a click and do the lights dim when you turn the key to start? If you do then I would check the connections for both cables to the engine and starter. The most common one to have a bad connection is the ground. I have found the easiest way to test this is to take a set of jumper cables and connect one end to the ground post and the other to a clean place on the engine and , making sure you have a good connection, try starting the engine. If it starts then you will need to replace the ground cable.

If that doesn't work next I would check is if it has a security light flashing, if it does that would be the cause. If you have a transponder key you should have a security light that flashes slowly when the key is not in the ignition. If you do and you put the key in and turn the key to the run position and the light flashes rapidly there is a fault in the system.

Here is a link to our tutorial on resetting the security system:

If you don't have the light then the next thing I would check would be the neutral safety switch. First make sure the shifter is completely engaged into the park position, try just pushing forward on the shifter and see if it starts. If that doesn't work try putting the shifter in neutral and see if it will start then. If it starts once in neutral then you should replace the neutral safety switch.

I hope this helps you track down your problem. Please keep us up to date on your progress and thank you for using 2CarPros!
