Car ran out of gas, now engine runs rough

Last night, my wife ran the car out of gas. Since then the car has run like a dump truck. Any ideas?

Check fuel lpressure with a gauge pump gets lube from gas so may have partially fried it. Also try smacking bottom of tank with large rubbr hammer or palm of hand. But no guarantee it will hold up form that. Should be 55-62 psi key on engine off
