Hi,

I'm not showing the B2600 for 1997. The only thing I'm finding is the 2300 or 4000. Please confirm for me.

As far as the condition, it sounds like there is an issue with the crankshaft position sensor. If you haven't already, check for spark at the plugs. If there isn't any, suspect the sensor. It may have been left disconnected or damaged by coolant.

I attached a pic below of the 2300 showing the sensor. Take a look at this link. You may find it of interest.

Let me know.

Take care,

Hi,

No problem. I would be happy to help.

We need to narrow down the possible causes. I'm not sure why both of my manuals are not showing this model, so bear with me.

You indicated it is getting fuel. I need you to try something. See if it starts if you use starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it is fuel related. If there is no change, then I need you to check for spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how to do it:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-for-ignition-spark

Also, I need you to check connector pin 16 on the data link connector (DLC). That pin should have battery voltage. (See pic below)

I don't have a schematic for the 2600. Based on the schematic for the 2300, power to the DLC comes from the powertrain control module.

Let me know.

Joe

I'm not sure I understand. What happened? You indicated, "I took the spark plug out and put it in the lead to that to the middle and turn the ignition and it's I am done the hose that goes to the fuel line and the fuel just gushes out when I turn on the key." I don't understand. If you have the fuel line disconnected, then fuel will come out.

As far as the vehicle is concerned, the B2600 isn't offered here. I'm trying to get as close as possible. The data link connector is under the dash and above the parking brake on the ones in the US.

Let me know.

Joe

It has got spark going to the spark plug when I take it out and put it in the center of the engine in the lead and turn the key. I replaced the camshaft sensor that is in the distributor. I replaced the fuel rail hose and turned the key and the fuel came out. I don't know if it's going to. The injectors I don't know how to check it and I don't know how to find the diagnostic when it isn't under the dash it is in the engine bay on the side of the I hooked it up to an obd2 but it does not read and when you Google it it says you have to earth out a single but I can't find that wire any help would be much appreciated the camshaft sensor and the crank sensor is all-in-one in the in the distributor.

Hi,

I wish I had an easy answer, but this specific model isn't listed for me. I don't want to give you incorrect information and cause more problems.

Let's try this. How many fuel injectors and how many wires go to each one? I also want you to pay attention to the wire colors at the injectors. If one color wire is present at each injector, disconnect one of them, turn the key to the run position, and use a test light, to see if there is power present at that wire. If there is and there are only two wires, the other one should be a ground path to the PCM. So, take your test light, connect the alligator clip to the battery positive, probe the other wire, and have someone crank the engine. If the PCM is providing a ground path, the light should strobe on and off.

Also, please record it cranking and upload it for me to hear. That may help me a lot.

Take care,

Joe
