The car engine suddenly started sounding like a motorcycle?

The car started sounding like a motorcycle all of a sudden. I'm not sure what is making the engine so loud.

There is no Check engine light on. All green on dashboard. The car is a bit sluggish uphill. The car does start and runs.

Based on your description, the first thing that comes to mind is an exhaust leak. I would try to isolate where the noise is coming from. The following guide may help.

Also, could you please provide the fault codes from the check engine light?
