CAM positioning sensor

My sons truck has absolutly no power. It will only go 45. And struggles to do that. Engine runs real ruff. Put code reader on it and it says cam positioning sensor and random misfires. Also when I checked the oil their was nothing on the stick not sure were to start

Adding oil would be the start. You can replace cam sensor if you wish as far as random misfire it's best a pro takes care of that as it can be anything to do with motor, like basic problem or sensor for computer or injector as well as vacuum leak and low fuel pressure.
