2005 Cadillac STS please help me

2005 Cadillac STS 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
i have acracked dashboard a purchased it and i can't get the side panels off they have airbags in them the dashboard is a two piece and the piece i'm replacing is closest to windshield and it clips to side panel along inside its the piece that is is there a trick or special too to get this off the dashboard it removed except for the part attached to side panel

Defroster Grille Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
Insert a small flat-bladed tool into one end of the trim panel.
Pry up in order to release the retaining clips.
Disconnect the sunload sensor (3) electrical connector.
Remove the trim panel.
Installation Procedure
Connect the sunload sensor (3) electrical connector.
Locate the front tabs (1) of the trim panel to the instrument panel.
Push the trim panel in to the instrument panel in order to secure the retaining clips.
Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
