My 94 sts keeps frying these $200 blower motors. I have completely isolated it from spark plug wires and heat from the engine using a fiber heat shield. Anyway the wires arent arcing to the motor. They have a good 1" between them and the motor.

I normally have to replace the motor every 8 months but 2 motors including the one I just replaced lasted 10 mintues.

I understand the speed control is built into the motor but it recieves a digital signal from the ac programmer. Should I replace the programmer unit? Does the motor recieve a constant voltage?

SHould I buy a japanese car? Your help is so greatly appreciated you have no idea

You need to use a meter and see what kind of voltage is being fed into the blower.I have seen the programmers go out ion these, but not what you describe. Start basic and be sure the grounds are good and check the power in to see what the programmer is doing
