ok, when I start it instead of just turning right over and starting up it turns over like 5 or 10 times and then finally starts, kinda like it's not getting enough fuel

then when it does start and i'm driving it around the smell of gas inside the car is so bad I have to open all the windows

Pull the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and check for raw fuel leaking past the diaphragm into the engine.

There was a recall on this car and model year. I can't remember the name of it, something like a fuel cell relay, apparently they cracked. I had the same problem, called the dealer and they checked the VIN# and fixed it free!
