The most consistent thing that I've heard from mechanics during my investigation into this problem I've had out of my car sense I've had it an I've had my car for 5yrs now I went to the dealer an restored the car, new paint an wheels an every thing but I still have problems keeping it cool when its idling. But anyway they told me repeatedly that it could be the temp sensor fellling cause that regulates the fan (when its supposed to come on an when its not )your cars temp is not suppose to exceed 220 an thats hot but we're in the same boat.

Caddy runs a little hotter, the high fan comes on at 227 to 230
you might try flushing out the radiator with a power flusher, get some of that junk outa there
