I have had dealers tell me that rebuilt transmissions are just as good, if not better, than re-manufactured ones.
So first, is this true?

I have had a $2200.00 and $3000.00 quote for rebuilding a transmission, all inclusive in this price for labor. Is this a good deal?

One place I am waiting on an answer from, only orders Jasper transmissions, but they are so expensive ( in the $3,000.00 range, actually more than this). Yet, I can order a rebuilt transmission and have it delivered to my door, all inclusive for the transmission and Shipping and handling for $1429.00. The $3,000 + for the Jasper transmission does not include the labor, the $1429.00 for the other one does not include labor. How much will it be to install one of these? And also, is the Jasper really that much better than the rebuilt transmission that it is worth twice the cost? And when they rebuild, do they usually use the exact same transmission that is in it?
also at the $1429.00 cost for the rebuilt one, I do not have to send the core back and we can do whatever we want with the old transmission?

Most rebuilders offer the same 12 months 12,000 mile warranty, and good units, and bad units come from all rebuilder/remanufactures, with auto parts it's the same thing. Both put new parts in an old housing.
