Ever since fall of 2007 I have had starting issues with my car. When it is cold or hot, its fine. However, after being run then sitting for around an hour, it cranks for about 5 - 10 seconds before starting at a low bog. Then i noticed the coolant was dissapearing and I smelled anti - freeze in the front area and in the cab of the car. Had dye test preformed and came back good. And there are no puddles that i can find anywhere. My friend was fallowing me the other day and said there was white / blue smoke coming from my tail pipes if that is related at all. Even more recently, the car lost alot of power and shutters like it wants to stall. Especially going up hills or when i need that extra kick of power. Just replaced fuel filter hoping for a quick fix but no luck and it keeps getting worse. I love the car and so does my dad. I dont want to get rid of it, but is it really worth keeping with the repairs that need to be done with it. Thanks in advance for your time and helpfullness.

When was the last time it seen a major tune-up?

Lets get the coolant temperatrue sensor and fuel pressure/exhaust system for restriction checked then report back.

Are you overheating and how often do you put oil in the crankcase?

Overheats every once in a while.

Add oil about twice a month or more

spark plugs on this car are replaced at 100k, which I would also put on wires, the smoke out the tail pipe is just oil and carbon, the rings are sticking and need cleaned with a solution that cadillac knows about, they dump it in the cylinders and it cleans them it may also take a couple times. it works good

if you are smelling antifreeze you have a leak, places to look heater hoses, water pump, radiator, or heater( rub your hand on the carpet on pass side frt floor board and smell your hand) the coolant cristlizes so you may not see it unless its pooring out, never seen a head gasket leak coolant, it just overheats and blows it out the overflow jug

scan your codes for problems, off and warmer on the heater controls at the same time, with key in the on position, look at the IP for them, write them down and post them here!!! stalling may be due too crank sensors

as for the starting try a fuel PSI regulator its cheap 25 - 30 bucks and easy to install. its in the fuel rail on top of the motor, get it at the dealer, dont put thoes cheap parts on that car

not trying to scare you but you would be surprised on how many people keep driving there car even knowing its overheating, til it dies

I need the code # to help, multiple misfires I would start with wires and go from there, go to napa or the dealer for parts
