Brakes problem
2004 Cadillac Escalade V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

Escalade has 80,000 miles, bought new. Put new brake pads on and had rotors turned. Now the car has front wheel brake shudder when going down hills where we live. Did not do this before. Does not have shudder on flat roads. Why is this happening and what will cure this problem. Used Raybestos metalic pads. Thank you.

It does not pulsate on flat roads when braking from any speed? I still believe you have rotor issues, possibly from improper servicing. The only factors that hills would bring is an increase in heat, and weight displacement(more on front). Were just the front rotors turned? The only way to validate this correctly would be to have the lateral runout measured on all four, and thickness variation as well. Anything over.005" on runout, and.001" on thickness variation measurements indicates a potential for your concern.
