While driving all the lights will blink 2 or 3 times, the engine will die and all the lights will stay off. As soon as the ignition switch is cycled the engine will fire back up and everything is normal. This has only happened 3 times in several months. The ignition switch was replaced and it did not fix the problem.

Thanks

when it does it again and dies, put it in park and leave the key alone, and go to the under hood fuse box and ck it for power with a test light(all fuses), it has to be in there somewhere

studebakerman do you think it can also be that the body control module is starting to give up?

hes loosing power to the ECM b fuse thats why its dying, the Ign switch would have been my first guess, which the light panel comes after that in the fuse box

Upon further visual inspection and luck it turned out to be a small nick in the wire alternater power wire. the cut was just small enough that it was hard to see but big enough to ground out against one of the points of the alternater.
