2001 Cadillac Deville idle air control valve

The car started to surge when coming to a complete stop and when slowing down. Changed map sensors and O2 sensors as well as spark plugs? Car still surges. Now I'm told that I need a IAC valve that cost 250.00? I'll purchase it if need to, but want to be sure that is the problem. Also if the car is still for too long, will suddenly cut off.

Yeah that sounds like thats the problem. Accept. Why don't you atleast take a look at what needs to be done to replace it and take a crack at it. Or at least by one from the parts place and just pay for the labor. You will save yourself so much money. To change an iac valve is sooo easy just take a look and determine if you think you can do it.
