Cadillac dealer says I need air diverter valve. Part# 17090215.
So far no luck in finding one. GM out of stock.I hope to find aftermarket one.
Any ideas where I might find the part.

The dealer took it apart and broke it before they found they couldn't replace it.
There is now a loud exhaust noise on acceleration.

Also could use diagram of part so I might see if I can make it quieter.

I've put a lot of new parts in the car and it ran great before the broken part.

I should have just kept running it with the "Service Engine Soon" light on.

It would be great if you can help.

I'll run it on the locator service tomorrow morning.
I will let me know if any of the dealers might have one in stock by accident.

Then they can possibly sell it to you over the phone with a credit card and ship it to you.

On a picture the dealer gave me of the engine with the air diverter valve showing atop the engine, it is called an "air switch solenoid" and also an "air diverter solenoid".
The Service Manager says the part broke while they were diagnosing the problem, and before they found that they couldn't buy a new part from GM. Thus there is a loud exhaust noise now coming from the part making the car un-drivable. The picture shows it has a housing with a hose coming out of both sides.

Dealer says that the housing and hoses come with the part. Dealer says the part number is 17090215.

Well I dont have good news.
The GM number 17090215 is listed as discontinued. And did not come up on the locator.

It did cross to a AC Delco number, 214-123.
It's simply called a "valve" and is No Longer Available.

I'm sorry I couldn't save the day for ya.

Anyone else want to try to help me find the part air diverter valve #17090215 or AC Delco valve 214-123?

Perhaps a junkyard that has a 1990 deville heap rotting in the field?

New part number to look for
Echlin 229498

D&M lists it on their web site, but they were closed by the time I called them to check to see if they had them in stock.
http://www.dmauto.com/Pages/Home/

I notice that it was installed on Allantes.
There are a few places that specialize in them, as the Allante has somewhat of a cult following.
Maybe contact some of them.

I'll give you any more info if i run across something.

good luck

Surprised that you say it was used on some 91 caddys.
Cadillac and chevy dealer said it was used only on 90 el dorado, seville and deville 4.5 engine caddys and design was changed in 91.

Hope someone can find one.
I'm going to try junkyards too.
