Engine Mechanical problem
2006 Cadillac CTS V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual 27000k miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2006 cts-v. When trying to start, it just clicks once and thats it. Also, the car has an autmatic starter that I do not know how to use. Could I have pressed something that is not allowing the engine to turn over? Any help would be great. Thanks,

You need to determine if the signal is always getting to the starter, it is on the lower right(passenger) side of the engine. The signal wire is the smaller of the two, the other one being the positive cable. I have seen the connector damaged from high resistance, or the exhaust heat. I believe the wire is purple. Is this automatic start an aftermarket system, the CTS-V did not come equipped with a remote start feature due to the fact the clutch needs to be depressed to start.

On the 05 that piggybacked this post, it sounds like you have a drain on the battery. It should not be draining that fast. Is there perhaps some aftermarket equipment installed?
