2005 Cadillac CTS Battery?

My car died three different times. Each time it was the same problem; the gearshift gets stuck in park, the lights, radio, heater etc. Work, but I can't get the car out of park. The first time, they told me nothing was wrong because it started up again at the dealership. The second time they told me it was the battery and "overhauled" the battery. The third time they said it was the battery again and replaced the battery. Do you think it is the transmission? Should I ask for or demand a new transmission or transmission overhaul?

No, the shift lock engauges when it has no power, if the battery is still dead you still have problems, take it back and get a rental car and tell them to fix it
