Engine Cooling problem
1996 Cadillac Concours V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 54K miles

THE ENGINE OVERHEATING DISPLAYS ON DASH AND WARNS TO SHUT OFF ENGINE FOR PROTECTION.
IT HAS OIL AND ANTI-FREEZE, WHAT SHOULD I CHECK TO BE WRONG NEXT?

For a start you can find the thermostat and replace it then come on back if it continues-

DESCOVERED IT WAS THE WATER PUMP BELT BROKEN. HOW DO I REPLACE IT? DO THE WATER PUMP OR PULLIES HAVE TO COME OFF?

The belt only requires a 13 mm wrench, put it on the pully bolt may have to take off the black protector bracket, but ck the water pump and see if it is seazed up
