1999 Cadillac Catera Brake lights not working.

Computer problem
1999 Cadillac Catera 6 cyl All Wheel Drive 92,000 miles

My brake lights have stopped working. I have the part, but I am having trouble getting the cover off and have misplaced my manual. We don't know how to get the cover off the dash to get to the brake light. Can you help? Also, we do not know where the fuse box (es) are located within the car?

Hello Bunny Madison

Welcome to 2carpros.

When all the brake lights are inoperative, the most likely problem will be the fuse.
The fuse is on # 2
(CLAMP15 A/T) its rating is 10A
The instrument panel fuse block is located on the lower left hand side of the steering column, mounted to the lower instrument panel.

The cruise control chairs the same fuse.

If the cruise control is working, than the fuse is good. I’ll be looking somewhere else.
Drive and engage the cruise control, if the cruise control works, the problem might be the brake light switch under the pedal.
