I was told it was my starter. But dont that usually give you a warning? Is my silinoid switch on the starter or small box somewhere on the car?

When you turn key to starting position do you hear the starter cranking the engine over or not?

No, dashlights come on, clicking under dash, starter is silent.

At the starter solenoid-there's a small terminal that has a purple wire, get a screwdriver and short out the purple wire to the big terminal black wire-this will cause the starter to engage the engine-let me know what happened.
