Jerks

Engine Performance problem
1991 Buick Riviera 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 90000 miles

My car will jerk or miss occasionally. Usually at highway speed. Some days it won't do it and sometimes it does it several times in 10 miles.

we need a little bit more info from you.
You need to be my eyes, ears, and body.

I'm fishing for details, like it will improve if you step on the gas peddle harder or less,

it does it only when it's hot

it only does it on days that end with "Y"

stuff like that.

It does it when it's hot, under load, like going up a slight incline. It does not do it under heavy acceleration. I have changed the plugs and I'm going to change the fuel filter.

Simulating a load in the garage is going to be hard to accomplish.

The first thing I would check is the fuel pressure.
and a compression test, just to rule them out.

after that we get to guess if it's an injector or ignition problem.

I will check pressure and compression, it may be a week or so before I get back to you.
Thanks, Steve
